One small step

Everything can fail

One small step

So much could go wrong

One small step

But terror makes her stop

All these excuses can’t hide

The fear that she’s feeling inside

But for the rest of her life

Might she wonder, “What would’ve happened

If I had tried?”

The leap

Scares her to death

The leap

The thought steals her breath

It might be over

It might be through

But what could happen

If I just trust You?

She wants to ring the bell

But so much would go wrong

If she just fell

Up, up so far

Above the world

Backwards is safety

But where could this go, if it all unfurled?

A resolve

Wells up

No matter what happens, she’ll jump

And despite the terror inside

She’ll take one small step, she’ll fight

And suddenly she finds

That she can

Fly
